Introduction
The departmental Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resource
Economics is awarded to qualifying undergraduate majors with a "field
of concentration" in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics.
Requirements
To qualify for the certificate, students must complete
two core courses as follows:
- ECON 435 - Natural Resource Economics
- ECON 436 - Economics of the Environment
and two courses chosen from the following list:
- ECON 454 - Cost-Benefit Analysis (recommended)
- ECON 403 - The Economics of Property Rights
- ECON 404 - Industrial Organization and Price Analysis
- ECON 431 - Government and Business
- ECON 437 - Economics of Biological Resources
- ECON 450 - Public Finance: Expenditure Policy
- ECON 451 - Public Finance: Tax Policy
- ECON 485 - Game Theory with Applications to Economics
Students must earn a grade of at least 2.8 in each of the four courses
and a grade point average for the four courses of at least 3.0.
