Department Welcomes New Assistant Professor

The Department of Economics is delighted to welcome new assistant professor Jing Tao to the faculty this fall. Dr. Tao completed her Ph.D. in economics at the University of Wisconsin at Madison this year and is teaching two sections of ECON 482: Econometric Theory and Practice this quarter. 

Dr. Tao's research focuses on nonparametric and semiparametric econometrics, with applications in empirical industrial organization and applied microeconomics. 

Prior to starting the Ph.D. program at Wisconsin, Dr. Tao obtained a B.A. in Economics and B.S. in Mathematics from Peking University (China). In her spare time, Jing enjoys traveling, snowboarding and yoga.
