Researchers Gather at UW for 2026 SBIES Conference

The University of Washington Department of Economics recently co-hosted the 2026 SBIES NSF/CEME Conference, held May 1–2 at the University of Washington in Seattle. Organized in collaboration with the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis, the conference focused on Bayesian inference in econometrics and statistics and brought together researchers and scholars from across the globe.

The conference program featured presentations and discussions on Bayesian methods and their applications across economics, statistics, business, and machine learning. Faculty, graduate students, and researchers presented current work in econometrics and quantitative analysis, with sessions designed to encourage discussion and collaboration among participants. 

Over the two-day conference, attendees participated in research sessions, academic discussions, and networking opportunities with scholars working in related fields. Guests included participants from organizations and academic institutions such as Amazon, Citigroup, Bank of England in collaboration with King's College London, Brown University, Purdue University, Haus Analytics, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Moffitt Cancer Center, Johns Hopkins University, and University of Alberta, among many others.
