Student Engagement

The Department of Economics offers multiple opportunities for students to get involved. If you are interested in leaving a mark at UW, we recommend you check out the different groups the department sponsors as well as the different programs offered to students.


Student Groups

Economics Undergraduate Board (EUB)

The EUB is a group of undergraduate majors who liaises between students and department faculty and staff, in addition to collaborating on events with alumni and friends of the department. The EUB was created with the goal of improving the educational experience of students in the department. They produce a quarterly newsletter, The Economizer, and offers free tutoring and a variety of seminars, study resources, and events.

Women in Economics (WiE)

The UW Women in Economics group was established to address topics of interest to women studying or working in fields related to economics. Their activities are aimed at raising awareness of common issues and providing networking and professional development opportunities to students. WiE have hosted past events such as workplace visits at technology, finance, and wealth management firms, career fair strategies for economics majors, networking and social events, keynote speakers from different organizations.

Programs

Study Abroad

The Department of Economics partners with renowned institutions around the globe providing Economics undergraduate students with valuable opportunities to grown personally and academically. The Department of Economics Study Abroad exchanges encourages students to explore diverse areas, cultures, and ideals of the world.

Undergraduate Mentorship Program

The undergraduate mentorship program helps connect undergraduate economics students with mentors in order to help them develop life and career skills through the guidance of seasoned professionals. The program allows students to learn about specific jobs, career paths, networking opportunities, etc. The program is aimed at enriching and support the professional, academic, and personal experiences of undergraduate students in order to assist with the transition from academic to professional life.
