Information Session for New ECON Majors
For students admitted to the Department of Economics for the 2017 Winter Quarter admissions cycle, we were unable to offer the in-person Information Session that is normally required. The purpose of the Information Session is to introduce you to our many resources and programs, help you navigate our website, and present you with helpful information to help you succeed!
On this page, you will see a series of three videos and an outline of the session. Please review these resources at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your cooperation, and congratulations on your admission to the Department of Economics!

Some notes:
- Acceptance during the 2017 Winter Quarter admission cycle is "effective" starting in the 2017 Spring Quarter.
- Students will be able to register for the 2017 Spring Quarter as ECON majors.
- Students pursuing double majors and double degrees have already been notified regarding Change of Major Form instructions.
- If ECON is your first major, you do not need a Change of Major Form. The Office of the University Registrar has already been notified, and should be updating students' major statuses soon. The major will also change on students' MyUW accounts as well.
