On Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, the Department of Economics honored its undergraduate and PhD degree recipients, in a spectacular occasion, at the Husky Union Building Ballroom, at the University of Washington.
The festivities were presided over by Professor and Chair Eric Zivot, and the Department of Economics Faculty.
Many thanks to Matthew Bannick – current Senior Advisor at VélezReyes+ and Lecturer at Stanford University – who delivered an inspiring keynote address. Matthew was also honored as the 2026 Economics Distinguished Alumnus.
We also thank the many family members, friends, alumni, staff, and faculty who came to celebrate.
