Economics Mentor Program Presents First Annual Alumni/Student Networking Reception

Submitted by Nicole Johns on

The Economics Mentorship Program presents its first Alumni/Student Networking Night on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Current Economics majors, alumni, and friends of the department are invited to join an evening of professional networking designed to provide alumni an opportunity to meet and socialize and allow our undergraduate majors a chance to practice their networking skills as they prepare to go on the job market.

All Economics majors are invited to first attend the following workshop:

Social and Business Networking 101
Wednesday, January 27, 2016
4:00 – 5:30 p.m., HUB 145
In this highly popular workshop, UW Economics mentor Fortunato Vega will be teaching participants how to network effectively to get that dream opportunity. This workshop will include information about how to feel confident when introducing yourself to new people, what to do when you meet someone you'd like to be connected with professionally, and how to use social media to connect with professionals in your field. Free and open to anyone interested, particularly graduating seniors and young alumni. Following the workshop, participants are invited to practice their networking skills at the alumni networking reception.

Alumni and department friends are invited to attend the networking reception:
